Brenda leads the Timmins Economic Development team, and oversees The Business Enterprise Centre, a service that provides free business consulting, support and mentorship in the Timmins area and region. With over 20+ years of experience, Brenda draws on her knowledge of project management and business development to implement economic development projects and strategies that work to successfully develop and diversify the local economy while focusing on job creation. She works directly with clients to scale up, expand or invest in Timmins. Her portfolio includes expanding regional export capacity, and promoting trade and investment.
Brenda holds a designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP), as a certified Economic Development professional (Ec.D.), a diploma in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo, and a diploma in Business Administration from Cambrian College.

James supports entrepreneurs throughout the region via one-on-one consultation services, workshops, and managing the Starter Company Plus and Summer Company programs. Whether you need to register your business’ name, create a business plan for a funding or financing application, or begin the succession planning process, James provides guidance, in both English and French, throughout all of the entrepreneurial landscape. He also knows that it takes a village to support an entrepreneur and continues to develop strategic partnerships for the Business Enterprise Centre. James is also the co-Chair of his Joint Health and Safety Committee and organizes wellness events for Timmins Economic Development. Prior to joining the Business Enterprise Centre, James was the Research Coordinator for the Timmins Economic Development Corporation and he continues to manage their customer relationship management software.
James holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy and is a certified Economic Development Professional (EcD) with the Economic Developers Association of Canada.

From business planning, maximizing grant opportunities and connecting clients to eco-system supports, he provides a holistic approach to all clients based on their specific needs. Whether you are a new entrepreneur or someone with an idea, or an existing business looking to grow, we provide the resources to ensure you make an informed decision with proper planning and strategies. Al is bilingual and supports clients in both official languages.
Al has been working with the local business community for over 15 years with experience in the commercial insurance industry as well as small business and commercial banking. He has a Diploma in Commerce from Collège Boréal.
