Summer Company

Summer Company is a youth entrepreneurship program that helps students start and run their own summer business.

Participants receive hands-on business training and up to $3,000 in financial support for their business.

Summer Company

The program provides students with:

  • Up to $1,500 to help with start-up costs and $1,500 after completing the program;
  • Business training to help get started; and
  • Mentorship from a member of the business community.

Eligible participants are:

  • 15 and 29 years of age as of April 30th of the program year;
  • Currently a student and returning to school in the fall;
  • Starting a new sole proprietorship or corporation in Ontario that you plan to operate independently;
  • Prepared to make a commitment of at least 280 hours for high school students and 420 hours for post-secondary students;
  • Not working for more than 12 hours-a-week at another job;
  • Canadian citizens or permanent residents;
  • New to Summer Company (not a previous recipient of a Summer Company award or have an outstanding My Company loan).
  • Summer Company is a Province of Ontario program hosted by The Business Enterprise Centre.

Applications for the Summer Company 2024 are now open.  The deadline to apply is May 19, 2024.
